Controls & Instrumentation Technician, Richmond, VA
E-Merge Systems is growing and we’re looking for a few select candidates to grow with us! We’re seeking Controls and Instrumentation Technicians to join the E-Merge engineering family at our home-base in Richmond, Virginia. These are entry level, full time hourly positions with comprehensive benefits. Technicians will perform testing, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic and electrical control systems. You’ll service a wide array of clients in numerous environments. Candidates must be prepared to work safely and efficiently, meeting our requirements and those of our customers in a variety of work situations. The majority of our business is from repeat clients, making positive client interaction a key to our success; each employee is accountable for maintaining that success through positive client relationships and quality workmanship.
A background in SCADA systems, PLC / HMI programming and mechatronics is especially valuable. Desirable skills/training would include:
- Allen-Bradley PLCs
- RS Logix 500/5000
- Fundamentals of Electricity
- Process Control
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are conditions of employment. This position requires travel to customer locations, many of which are local to the Richmond area, but occasional travel out of town, and out of state may be necessary.

- Must already be in the United States with a valid work visa, or certain student visas; or
- Must meet the requirements for nonimmigrant NAFTA Professionals.
